Dec 7, 2023 · Most players agree that Necron Dynasties was the best of the Warhammer 40k Commander precons. While there isn’t one massive standout card, the whole deck just works so well together. There’s a lot of synergy between the self-mill and recursion mechanics, plus a lot of support from and for your artifacts. I have someone trying to sell the four Warhammer 40k percon decks and I’m curious if it’s worth it. I have been thinking about getting a couple new precons and so these caught my eyes. Pick up either the necron or Tyranid 40k decks. Strong straight out of the box. The Strixhaven precons were excellent. In terms of where they fall compared to the Phyrexia ones, I cannot really say, but they were very decent right out the gate. The Lorehold (Boros) one is probably the strongest out of the box.

The Necron one (the one im getting) has a very focused strategy, with Commanders that arent great but also get the deck working, specialy Szerakh, he is a pretty good engine for what the deck wants to do. This deck, as well as the three other Warhammer 40K precons have all been modified by me. I've playtested, balanced and rebuilt all 4 precons to increase their power levels to around 5/6 while keeping them balanced for play against each other. They all play very well together and against other mid-power decks.

We're going to do a thorough analysis of each deck, highlighting its goals and how well it accomplishes them, check out its deckbuilding fundamentals, identify its strongest and weakest cards, then use all that information to create a high-impact list of upgrades for under $30. The only negative being the secondary market is heavily marking these decks up. My local LGS sells these for $80, which is too much for a single precon magic deck, in my opinion.
