Try changing the FOB battery first (as others indicated) - it's a CR2032 button cell battery, which is available almost everywhere, and it's easy to change. If that doesn't resolve it then maybe you have a defective FOB.

Perhaps the "stiff" feeling sensation is because previous car most likely had a traditional vacuum brake booster and electric brake booster has a different feel @ startup. Oct 28, 2023 ... krsin97. There are settings regarding the smart key on your dash controls. If you can manually press the button on the FOB and it unlocks the car, then changes/adjustments has to be made to the settings. Allow for automatic unlock once you touch the handle.
