After a lot of research I’ve decided to do a LQ4 (gen 3 6.0) with a 4L60e transmission swap into my 1988 Chevy C1500. First of all, there is a lot that I am unsure of when it comes to the LS swap everyone (especially myself) drools about. 1) LQ4 6.0 Engine - 2002 or older - as to not screw with drive by wire. 3) ECM - ECM, Harness, Engine from same truck. Hey, Looking to see what people have used in an LS swap DBW. I was going to use the stock pedal from the donor truck,but it has an 8 pin connector. I am using the Holley Terminator X max which has the 6 pin connector. The pedal Holley suggests is way too big. Has anyone used a certain pedal for the GMT400 .I ls swap my 96 k2500 and using the 4L80E that was factory. I have a standalone harness. I just confused on how to wire the cruise up. Thank you. Built into the cruise module on the firewall. If you went with a DBC throttle body, only need to hook a VSS signal to it from the LS PCM to keep it working.

Find a 5.3L using the same operating system and swap the engine segments. I did that when my buddy put a 6.0L in his truck. It already had an 0411 I had tuned. I swapped the tune from a 5.7L/4L60E to a 6.0L/4L80E. Personally I would go bigger than a 5.3L in truck but that is me.

And on coolant temp you can add a stock range sensor to pass side of ls or you can change the ls temp sensor for the f body 3 wire but it gauge is off 10ish degrees.

Newbie. New to the forum, wanted to hopefully help others out as I searched forever trying to find if the speed engineering headers fit my ls swap before I bit the bullet and bought them and could not, ended up taking a chance and they fit almost perfectly, (drivers side was a little close to frame and had to tweak it inwards 1/8” maybe)

I would just get a LS style 4L60E at a minimum. Personally I would ditch the 60E and get a 4L80E though. You could probably trade off the LS1 for an iron 6.0L too, which would work better for the swap. The truck accessories, intake and exhaust manifolds are an easier swap into a truck. Factory 5.3 truck cooling hoses work with your 5.7 radiator. Maybe do away with the factory trans cooler in the radiator and run an external cooler. Ill try and think what else you might need.

Other information to …Honestly, if you are a Facebook user, there's a great OBS LS swap group on there with tons of great info. For headers look at the Schoenfeld LS swap headers (PN# 1302LS1). They fit the best on OBS LS swaps in 2WD. Do NOT use the Speed Engineering headers, they say they work but they don't really on the 2WD, only the 4WD.I think the only year of the TH400 was the 1988 or 1988-1989 models. Your 1992 has a 700R4. I have no idea on what all is needed though. The 5.3L is an OBD-II engine, and if you can find a 4L60E that was originally paired to a 5.3L, if you swap over the computer and wiring harness, it might be a "bolt on" swap, since you are putting in a "matching" powertrain, and using the correct computer ...Remove all the emissions pins from the LS1 harness. If you are using a 4l60 with your LS engine and the vehicle you are working on had a 4l60 then keep the factory transmission pins and swap them into the LS harness.
