The gas port is drilled at a 45° angle but the block itself still diverts the gas like a standard block would. I can think of several manufacturers who use a straight gas tube as well as LMT. I wonder how many L129A1s are being fielded by the Brits and how many MARS rifles LMT has delivered to NZ.

For a 10 use a 5/32 drill. Drill the hole in the gas block, with the tube in it. you will need to drill into the other side of the gas block too. So you can get the set screw to close off the tube. If you know how to grind a bottom drill now is the time to do it or see if you can buy one. You will need 2 taps.

I was just wondering since my MRP barrel has a straight gas tube from the existing block, I didn't know if it was as simple as putting on the gas block of my choice and fitting it with a "standard gas tube" with a bend in it. Most standard AR15 barrels I have seen have a slight bend in the gas tube to properly fit in the reciever and the gas block.
