Short blunts are abundant and gives you a very strong start to the game if you pick construction worker. However they lack the damage or the range of axes and long blunts. Spears are a gimmick, but they work well with low strength - fitness characters due to one hit kill. Never bothered with knives after build 41 landed.

Crafted spear break easily without some advanced skills but that's what spears with attached weapons are for. Slicing up a hoard becomes no problem with these weapons.
