Assumed, it was potentially normal as the engine continued to break-in. However, it has continued to get worse. Ticking noise when accelerating. The new to me Duramax has a ticking noise going on as soon as you step on the gas. It is present from around 1000rpms to 2700 rpms. If I´m flooring it it goes away and it goes away as soon as I let of the pedal.. Shortly after the headgasket job a ticking noise appeared. I think it sounds like a lifter ticking. Possibly a lifter loosened up a little after it has been running. A friend of mine disagrees. He says it is injectors ticking because they are bad. I have no other symptoms.

It only seems to happen between 1,000 and 1500 rpm. My 16 LML made a similar noise sometimes, but this L5P seems to do it more. i have been hearing the clicking/ticking noise when the truck is idling on the drivers side. seems like it has been coming from the fenderwell and underneath the truck. it does not do all the time and does not have a rythem to it at all. i havent crawled up under it yet to look at it either.LML DURAMAX “Knock sounds”!!! Its not really loud but I can hear it from several feet away. The only other thing I have noticed is a slight vibration in my foot on the throttle that is only present when going about 45 mph.
