I see it as more of a proof of concept (15-round flush-fit hybrid plastic/steel magazine that is compatible with the OEM Glock magazine catch), rather than a viable defensive (or even range) magazine. It'll be interesting to see how PSA is going to pull this off.

To be honest, recently I usually just use the factory mags. A loaded 43X with factory 10+1 is 23.5 ounces, and with the Shield 15+1 is almost 26 ounces. Two and a half ounces more is not a lot, but it seems much lighter. Where I live, 11 Rounds of 124 HST should do for most social situations.
