Once the vehicle is on, the infotainment system starts to freak out and start selecting/tapping things on the screen by itself. Which then creates the issue of it shuffling through different apps and beeping (which i turned off) and making it impossible for us to select/tap on anything because it's stuck doing this. IMO Subaru should invest into developing a highly usable climate control panel with simple buttons and knobs and standardize it so it was manufactured as a unit, the same for every car. It could be designed to be maintainable, and integrate in a standard way with the touch screen. Best of both worlds. Usable, cheap and maintainable. Unless someone chimes in with a fix. I've seen where a system reset has cleared up electronic glitches. This is a long shot, but it will only cost a bit of your time. On the link below, do steps [1] thru [4]. I found a unit I like, but after removing the stereo to take a look I was surprised at the number of plugs.

For the vast majority of my driving time I have no necessity to access the functions of the touchscreen and would prefer it to be turned off.
