Hi everyone, My name is David and Im currently having a weird issue with my truck. I tried the search function but came up with no answers. I have a 2005 Freightliner Columbia with a Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine that will start without hesitation but will not turn off when I turn the ignition switch off. To do a passive regen, take the following steps: Turn on the truck, shift it to neutral, and put on the parking brake. Set a timer for 3-4 minutes and let the engine idle. The most important thing to make sure of is that the truck is not in the “Power-take-off” mode. From this point, you quickly do three things one after the other. You can do this one time. For example, if your idle time is set to 10 minutes and you hit lock-start-start five minutes into the idling period the truck will idle for a total of 15 minutes. It's covered on p.145 of the 3rd printing of the owner's manual.In my cascadia I hit the engine shutdown override rocker switch, then go to Vehicle Operations>Vehicle Settings>Engine Idle Adjust on the instrument panel. I know some, like Volvo's for example, you have to wait for the "idle shutdown" message to pop up on the dash (usually within 5 minutes of idling) and then press the accelerator pedal down and the message will read "idle shutdown canceled" or something like that.

On this 2015 Frieghtliner, you can do that but you cant exceed 900 rpms. If you do, after about 30 seconds or so (IIRC), the "check engine" light will come on & start flashing etc, etc. I am not sure it it will shut down etc, cause I got out of the high idle when I did that & the "check engine" light started blinking.
