Limp mode is basically when your computer thinks there is something wrong with your car so it goes into "limp mode" limping home so nothing else major can happen. Itll take away all your boost sometimes you cant make it past 2000 rpm. Its like a safe mode.

Okay, so I purchased a used 2013 tech veloster from a used car dealership, and the steering wheel controls on the left side (volume up/down, mode, skip track, calling buttons) didn't work. My car hesitated then went into limp mode. I drove it about half a mile to my apartment and left it there. It would start the next morning but immediately spudder and shut off. I got it to idle and drive. Things I noticed: lack of power, my exhaust is heavily muffled when its supposed to be decently loud. Loud ticking from my purge valve solenoid.Flooring the pedal would yield in a down shift and a massive spike in RPM. But no power. Like 3500-4000 rpm, and 20-30 seconds to climb from 55-60 miles per hour. Letting off the throttle does not resolve. Only stopping, parking and shutting engine off resets condition. After the car is re-started all the boost is back and car feels normal again.
