My wife's left headlight (low beam) was intermittent, and I tried cleaning the contacts, but that only lasted a few days. So a few days later, I put a new pigtail on it, and that fixed it.

Coat the base with a small amount of dielectric grease & reinstall. Don't touch the bulb glass. Otherwise, pull out your multimeter & start troubleshooting.
1) Check your tailpipe smoke, if its really humid and smells like maple syrup, you've likely got a coolant leak into your engine. 2) Check your oil cap for a yoohoo or chocolate milk looking substance, if it doesn't look like oil, its likely a headgasket problem.. Thats terrible news..
