You do not need a rope for this. You need to back up the truck quite close (~1 tile) to the trailer > stand at the back of thruck and press V > attach trailer to the truck. The above applies to B41, if you're playing a different build or using any mods then things could be different (and not working :) ) The only way I can get it to work is by reversing all the way into the trailer. Then while inside the cab, hit V and the option to attach is there. If I’m outside and try attaching like a normal car, I don’t get the option. Same problem. But also, when I detached the trailer and drove off this time, the trailer followed about 5 car lengths behind, as if it were hooked to a kinetic recovery rope. It was very funny. My guess is that the trailer is being connected twice and believes it's connected to two different locations (maybe due to the other player).
