Corrupted Platemail converts 30% of a dot into dark magic, which allows dots to trigger dark magic healing since the damage source is bonus damage instead of status effect damage. It also does this weird thing where it holds the current dark magic healing for the full length of the dot.

Corrupted platemail will convert 30% of your total damage to dark damage and then tack that damage on as a separate hit. Even if you do 100% dark damage already, it will convert it and give you a 70% hit and a 30% hit.
