Throw a set of the new Cup Sport 2 N1 tires on it, and you're pretty much neck and neck on track with the new one. Also, the 4.0L is kind of a one-off engine with cylinder deactivation with a few reliability issues early on. I believe the car is best driven on weekends away from traffic or on the track. In which case the buckets and MT gearing are not overly annoying. If you’re considering not getting the buckets for daily drivability, Porsche made a car for that, it’s the GTS.

Whilst the GT4 is nimble and mid-engined, the GT3 is faster and more capable in every way on track and on road, with only 30 kg more and over 110 bhp extra. Most importantly it doesn't have that overly long second gear. With a GT4 on a British B road you literally just sit in gear two.
