The Ruger SFAR is not really anything new. POF did the same thing with the Rogue, and DPMS did the same thing even before that with the DPMS Gen 2. The added handguard compatibility with an AR-15 is nice, but no, the AR10 is far from dead. The large frame AR may not have a "standard", but there is a TON of aftermarket for LR308/SR25. If sfar was an in between the 15 and 10 as far as cartridge length/mag size goes, then yes it would be a good concept (I feel that way anyway). Mag design for coal of 2.400"-2.600" other than using ar10 type 2.800" or m118 mags.
