Sep 23, 2015 · It doesn't matter that you got a 165 instead of a 170 on Verbal. What might matter is that you got a 155 on Verbal, which might put you below the cut-off for some programs. Again, schools never say they have a cut-off. It's not a formal cut-off. But there are cut-offs. The faculty here are dedicated to seeing our MA students succeed. You can certainly get funding at the others, but it is unlikely for American students, especially with your profile (e.g. lower than a 3.9X GPA).

The first percentage is how many of the BPhil graduates overall went on to do the DPhil, the second how many of the BPhil graduates who stayed in Philosophy went on to do the DPhil: 2016: 28% / 42%. 2015: 20% / 33%. 2014: 25% / 40%. 2013: 35% / 67%. Obviously, some people might get offers but choose to go elsewhere.
