So with this thermostat, Honeywell uses their "Honeywell Home" app, whereas I was previously using "Total Connect Comfort" app (incompatible with the T-9). I had to create a new account and pair it with the thermostat. Though I've set up previous Honeywell thermostats before, this one took me a good 25-30 mins just to get it to pair correctly.
