I don't believe the HHV will do a day pass for the pools. They are for paying guests only. All beaches in Hawaii are public so your friends can hang with you at the beach, it's not connected to any hotel. They also are welcome to eat in the restaurants and shop in the shops. Basically the only thing they can't do is use the pools.
